"Boiling Water"

A few weeks ago I attended a little gathering held by an older gay man. Latter on during the night a conversation started about how early the kids are coming out now. Someone made a statement saying that "Being gay is a learned behavior." Needless to say that his family are gay bashers and would beat a gay man's ass the first chance they got (so he goes say). Will somebody tell me if they learned how to be gay? Being gay is not a behavior nor is it a choice. It's just who we are. But he really got under my skin that night simply because it's people like him that make the rest of the GOOD gay GENTELMEN look bad.

"The Things We Do"

I was watching Tyra the other day and she was talking about how unsafe it is for women to leave with men they just meet at a bar. She tested a few girls just to see wut they will do and surely 3 out of 4 girls got their dumb asses up and attempted to leave with these men. Now I know as gay men it's not uncommon to leave with a guy you meet at the bar or sleep with a guy you just met off the internet but is it the safe thing to do? We all say that we can handle ourselves but there are some really crazy people out there. So Imma try to stop...lol

"3rd"

Wow it's hard for me to believe that I only have 24 more days left for me to enjoy my 20's. The funny thing about it is that I didn't really think about it until I typed that first sentence. Time really does fly when you don't focus on it. I just thank GOD that time didn't fly on my face. LOL. I've learned a lot and there are a lot of things I'm going to change. I'm now working in a field that I've always wanted to work in. I'm completely focus on my goals and dreams that I want to achieve this next decade in my life. Even tho I said that I didn't want to turn 30 single for the fear of being single the rest of my life, it's almost ok with me that I am single. I've met some jerks, I've met some cool people that are now my friends and I've met a few people that I gave my heart to. All of these people played a part in my growing process preparing me for the perfect one for me.

"House Is Vacant"

My house was plain and simple until you came to visit.
The exterior had a fresh coat of paint and a newly manicured landscape.
I had just bought the mat that said welcome home.
The interior had new white carpet on the floors and a fresh coat of white paint on the walls.
I let you add your own touch to my place since I thought you were going to be there for awhile.
Instead you painted the walls red and soiled the carpet with mud you brought in from outside.
All because of you, my house is in a condition beyond repair.
I've been trying to sell this house for 8 years now but can't seem to let people in.
People turn around at the door once they see the damage you've done.
This house is still vacant with me locked inside.

"Blury"

Looking out the window waiting on you to come ova.
You said you needed more time. I said I'll wait.
It's 3 hours latter and it starts to rain.
I'm wondering where you are.
You haven't called to let me know what's going on.
6 hours latter the rain stops but the sky is still gray.
I see a familiar figure walking to my door.
The bell rings. I look thru the peep hole to see if it's you.
I can't see clearly.
My eyes can't seem to focus thru this cloud of fog
Left by the rain.
I see a familiar figure.
Is it you?

Humm...

  • Atlanta! The gay mecca of the south. I love being around my Fag family & Fudge packing friends. Where else in the south can you go and see the friendly flag waving in the driveway of apartment complexes, on the porches of million dollar homes and stickers on the back of a lot of cars. What city in the south welcomes you with a statue of 5 buffed, naked men holding up the world at the intersection of 2 major streets. With so many gays in the city, is this really the place for a relationship? Could not be a better place for a relationship. I take pride in my city and I ain't going nowhere.
  • There are a group of BLACK kids in their late teens and early 20's that is always causing problems in the complex where I work. I wonder If they are going to change or if they will grow old doing what they are doing now. Hanging out till the sun comes up and sleep till it goes down. Apart of me wants to reach out and be a big brother to them but will they feel that I'm just butting in their business.
  • My dad always told me that the hardest thing to do is something that you don't want to do. Now that I'm older I know exactly what he is talking about.
  • Some people asked me why am I so ANGRY. I must admit that I have become a little angry. I've let people stay with me so they can get back on their feet and they skipped on me without telling me and didn't say thanks. I've had lovers that took advantage of my love for them and use it to hurt me. I've come across so many ignorant people in my 9 years of living here in Atlanta that I feel that I can't just let it go anymore but I really need to.

First Time

Well this is my first post. Never thought I would be doing something like this being that the only time I read is if I really have to. You know like a book for a report that is do. The instructions on how to set up this blog. The im's and text messages I receive daily, And the time I took out to proof read what I just typed...lol...This is gonna be fun...

"Self-Acceptance is the greatest
accomplishment ever made by man."

That is a quot that I wrote after I accepted who I was (A Black Gay Man). Growing up in a small town in Alabama, I found it very hard for me to be me. You see I grew up in a town where every-body knew evey-body. My teachers either taught my dad or went to school with him. A lot of my classmates was kin to me somehow and being GAY was the last thing I wanted people to know about me. Doing that left me uncertain as to who I really was. I ended up going to a historical black college and I began to explore myself not knowing anything about the lifestyle. This is where I met my best friends of 11yrs now and for the first time I feel like I can start being me.
